» Brett Dancer
Label owner / operator, DJ, Producer, Brett Dancer is a multi-talented young man. At the age 43
he has worked with some of America’s most prolific dance music masters. It was while he was playing
in his hometown of Kalamazoo, Michigan, that he met Jay Denham who invited him to produce some music
on a new label Black Nation Records. It was to be the first release from the label and Brett’s first step into production.
Brett then moved to New York in late 1993, where he started producing more house-orientated material, and releasing it on his own imprint “Track Mode Recordings”. Brett had done his own distribution for
TMR enabling him to keep an eye on where his records were going, and keeping a personal relationship with the buyer. Since it’s inception Track Mode has released over sixty E.P.’s, seven LP’s and Double packs, and it’s series of CD’s called the Abstract Fusion series one, two, and three, in association with London’s Music is LTD. Brett also handled Larry Heard’s Alleviated imprint under the umbrella of TMR Inc.
After a brief six year hiatus Brett has returned with a new company entitled Ethnic Blend Music.
This company will handle three labels: TMR Classics, TMR Essentials, and EB Music.
TMR classics will focus on previous released track mode titles. TMR essentials will release various projects reminiscent of TMR original brand. EB music will be based on soulful releases.
His early years were influenced by Detroit Techno and Chicago House, Brett has deejay clubs USA and Abroad for over twenty years.
